What do the different booking steps mean?

When making a booking, we will guide you through the process step by step.

Once you have contacted a cat sitter your booking will move through different stages, you can see what each status means here:

  • REQUEST - When you contact a cat sitter directly they will be sent a request. Cat sitters will then get back to you within 24 hours.

  • AVAILABLE - Once a cat sitter has said they are "Available", cat owners will then be able to Book & Pay, this will confirm the booking and validate the Cat in a Flat Guarantee. Cat owners, if you no longer need the cat sitter's service please cancel the booking to let them know.

  • PENDING - This is when a booking requires an action from either the cat sitter or the cat owner. This will be either to confirm a pre-booking or a price change. Please confirm the action in order for the payment to be processed.

  • BOOKINGS - Here is where you’ll find all your Booked & Paid, current and past bookings.

    • BOOKED - This means your cat sitter is booked, but money will only be taken from your account the day before the cat sitting starts.

    • PAID - Once the money has left the cat owner's account, BOOKED changes to PAID. This should automatically happen a day before the sitting starts. If for some reason it has not, please try and press Book&Pay again or contact Cat in a Flat.

  • DECLINED/CANCELED - Here is where you’ll find all your declined and canceled bookings. Please take note of our Cancellation Policy

*Please note that inactive and canceled bookings will archive after 10 days.

Important: Booking and paying on Cat in a Flat is required, per our Terms & Conditions. Never pay by cash —this makes your booking ineligible for our Cat in a Flat Guarantee and 24/7 support.
